Explore New Jersey's Hoboken Historical Museum Without Ever Leaving Home
While there’s no substitute for visiting New Jersey’s amazing museums in person, sometimes you want to (or have to) stay home. Luckily, at least one Garden State museum offers a selection of virtual exhibits. Though it’s not the same, it’s fun, interesting, and a good way to spend an hour or so.
You can take a 360-degree tour of the Hoboken Historical Museum on Google Maps that offers a little peek at some of the museum’s maps. They also provide access to a site called GigaPan with high-quality panoramic images of select exhibits. You can zoom in far enough to read the text on exhibit signs. Enjoy all the virtual exhibits here.
The museum also offers several videos on its Facebook page!
Wherever you are in New Jersey, you can enjoy this museum and a variety of others. When you get a chance, it’s worth visiting in person. You don’t always realize how amazing places are until you can’t (or shouldn’t!) go anymore. So, stay as safe as possible at home and explore museums around the world – many are just a click away. Search online and see what you find.
