When we refer to a celebrity as a triple threat, we tend to mean that they can do it all. In Hollywood, that “all” is singing, dancing, and acting. Fierce competitors, they almost always shine! When it comes to restaurants, a triple threat isn’t much different…it’s an eatery that excels in three (or more) areas. We’ve got a few such spots in New Jersey, but we’re singling one out as a superstar…
Brownstone Diner & Pancake Factory is somewhat of a local celebrity...
They've gotten some serious media recognition and have even been featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. Guy Fieri loved the spot so much that he featured it (on page 30) in his book. So, what's its version of a triple threat?
Pancakes, pancakes, and more pancakes...all day long.
Pancakes are what they're famous for and they definitely do them right. You'll find dozens of different varieties ranging from sweet to savory including chocolate covered strawberry pancakes and meat pancakes (baked with choice of pieces of ham, bits of bacon or chunks of pork sausage). They've used the same spectacular buttermilk base for 45 years - it's a family recipe! Their pancake wraps are always a hit, filled with everything from omelettes to buffalo fried chicken.
It's not all pancakes, all the time, though we wouldn't mind. Brownstone Diner has a lengthy menu overflowing with some of the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes around. Even the pickiest eaters will be happy here! You'll find everything from French toast to a taste of Greece sampler. Vietnamese vegetable spring rolls, chicken quesadillas, char-grilled burgers, and mama's meatloaf are all on the menu (along with dozens of other options).
Don't stop when you're done with your meal...you'll be missing out. Grab one of their mouthwatering milkshakes or delicious drinks - add in a flavor shot! Choose from almond, caramel, vanilla, raspberry, honey, or hazelnut. Non-drinkable treats include cheesecake, chocolate fudge cake, plenty of pies, and a mile-high tower of waffle wedges, fresh banana, vanilla ice cream, walnuts, caramel sauce, chocolate syrup & whipped cream.
