This 18-Mile Train Ride Is The Most Relaxing Way To Enjoy New Jersey Scenery
If you’re a frequent reader of Only In New Jersey, you’re probably aware of the amazing train rides offered by Black River & Western Railroad. I’ve covered their “Pumpkin Train” in the past but they are offering something new this season that’s worth the drive from wherever you reside.

There's a new train ride in town that ups the wow factor. What's the most magical time of day? Many would say sunset, and that's when these train rides take place. Enjoy the vibrant oranges and reds adorning the trees as your ride begins and marvel as they are bathed in a golden glow.
These special twilight trips take place on October 13th and 20th at 5:30 p.m.. You can expect several hours of scenic views and a stop at Bowne Station for a little dose of history. There are signs detailing the rail line's past, as well as an artifact or two. The train departs from Flemington, an (approximately) 18-mile round trip, so you'll be able to take in tons of trees!

Pumpkin trains run from Flemington to Ringoes (a shorter ride) and stop at Everitt Farms. Your ticket includes entrance to a 6-acre corn maze, smaller hay bale maze, a tractor-pulled wagon ride, and more. For a small fee, you can pick pumpkins or visit the petting zoo. It's an unforgettable adventure adults and children alike will enjoy.
