As the weather gets warmer, my mind always trends towards the Jersey Shore. March and April is when most of the beach’s main attractions open for the season, although some wait until closer to summer. Still, stores, indoor attractions, and food should all be open for business, and that’s often worth a visit even when the water is still cold. I know Boardwalk food doesn’t always get the best reputation, same as the food at most tourist attractions, but that makes the exceptions all the more exciting – and it doesn’t get more exciting than the largest tiki bar in New Jersey. Martell’s in Point Pleasant Beach is a massive complex on the Jenkinson’s Boardwalk featuring over five food concepts under one massive roof. During the day, it’s filled with hungry visitors to one of New Jersey’s most popular boardwalks. But by night it turns into a massive party filled with live music and amazing views. No matter when you get here, you’ll feel like – as the jingle famously says – a Caribbean island is never too far from Martell’s Tiki Bar!
