During select Sundays in early summer and fall, you can book an excursion train ride.

It's a 45-minute round trip that takes you 10 miles total. During the fall, you'll admire the changing leaves. In the summer, it's a pleasantly cool way to enjoy the outdoors.
The train takes you on a historical route, on the Whippanong Trail through Whippany, East Hanover, Livingston and Roseland in Morris and Essex Counties.

You'll pass through the remnants of a prehistoric glacial lake, an active swamp, and an active natural swamp.
