Bored with no activities on your agenda? Well, there is one fun idea you can always do that merely involves hopping in your car: taking a scenic drive.
Luckily, New Jersey has plenty of those — although the highlight has to be Ocean Drive, which is exactly what the name makes it sound like.
The Ocean drive is hands down one of the most scenic routes you can take in New Jersey.
It's about 47 miles of driving, and would take you less than 50 minutes to drive -- if you didn't want to make any stops.
But trust us, you'll definitely want to make a stop here and there. While the drive along the ocean is lovely, there are plenty of fun spots to pull off at.
Roll the windows down and crank the music up!
You start in Ocean City, which lives up to its name.
There are plenty of beaches here you might be inclined to stop and relax at.
As you drive, you'll head past Strathmere, one of Jersey's least-known and least-crowded beaches. It's the perfect place for a picnic.
OK, you likely won't see the Milky Way here unless it's the dead of the night -- it's not THAT secluded -- but you see what we mean when we say it's beautiful.
Once you get to North Wildwood, you'll be greeted by charming Victorian-style houses and more scenic beach views.
Hang out in one of the shops or restaurants here.
Or maybe you'd like to keep on driving a little further down to Cape May. We encourage it!
It doesn't add too much time, and Cape May is renowned for its beauty. You'll pass by some really quaint homes here.
Really, you can customize this drive however you want! That’s the best part of being on the road: the freedom.
