We do a lot of driving in New Jersey, and it’s usually far from my favorite activity. We’ve all had those days when traffic on a major highway seems to take forever, or our small town square’s intersection is completely tangled. But driving can also be a very relaxing experience, if you know where to go. The quieter areas of the state are home to some amazing scenic byways where you can just cruise and take in the beautiful scenery. Sure, there are famous byways like Ocean Drive, but there are others where it might feel like you’re the only one around. A great example of this is the Upper Freehold Historic Farmland Scenic Byway, a charming scenic byway in rural New Jersey. At only 24 miles and driving through several amazing small towns, it’s a quick adventure that’s perfect when you need to get away from it all.
