As of 2019, New Jersey is home to 114 breweries, 18 brewpubs, 22 distilleries, 3 cideries, 1 meadery, and 51 fantastic wineries. With so many wonderful options it’s hard to stand out but Plagido’s Winery in Hammonton manages to shine – especially during the summer months.
Plagido's is an award-winning winery located in New Jersey's Outer Coastal Plain. They've received dozens of awards and accolades over the years. They first opened to the public in 2007.
They specialize in artisanal hand-crafted wines, produced using a basket press. All grapes come from a single vineyard (pictured) with sandy loam soil.
All guests must be over 21 and masks must be worn at all times when not seated at your table. Tables are spaced as per social distancing guidelines. You can find more information about current safety protocols (and the ways they're protecting patrons and staff) on their website.
At present, they’re offering $10 wine flights, $6 glasses, and wine by the bottle. Options include their delicious cranberry and blueberry wines along with classics like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. For more details, a full menu, and current guidelines, visit the winery’s website here. Have you tried their Sangria Slushes or Wine Floats yet?
