In New Jersey, nowhere is really in the middle of nowhere. We’re the most densely populated state in the nation, so there’s always someone or something nearby. Still, we do have more rural areas, like the mostly abandoned shore town of Sea Breeze to picturesque Pine Barrens towns. One of these more rural areas is the little town of Quinton, home to about 2,700 residents. This Salem County town is dry (no alcohol can be sold) and comprised mainly of farmland.
You won't find an abundance of businesses in Quinton, but you will find a rustic cafe that locals love.
That cafe is officially named the Early Morning Start Cafe but it's often referred to as the EMS Cafe. The name was chosen intentionally as the owners have an EMS background.
Early Morning Start Cafe is the perfect place to start your day!
They've consistently been voted "Best of Salem County" for their burgers, breakfast choices, chicken sandwiches, soup, french fries and iced tea! What started out as a food trailer in 2011 got a nice little brick and mortar location in 2015. They've been a fan favorite ever since.
The exterior gives off a farmhouse vibe and the interior is an absolute delight. You'll find a hodgepodge mix of tables and chairs and the walls are adorned with old fashioned cooking tools.

The friendly staff, quality service and delectable dishes make this cafe shine.
There's something for everyone on the menu. You'll find all sorts of breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, platters, omelettes, and sides like scrapple, sausage and pork roll in the morning. For lunch and dinner, enjoy steak sandwiches, subs, grilled cheese, hot dogs, quesadillas, boneless buffalo bites, po boys and more. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong, but we'd recommend getting a side of their famous fries - there are several options to choose from including TY's Fries with pulled pork.
They've got daily deals and ever-changing nightly specials.
Daily deals include a breakfast buffet on Sundays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., Taco Tuesdays, Wing Wednesdays, Seafood Thursdays, Potpie Fridays (after 4 p.m.) and a dinner buffet on Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. - the menu changes weekly. Select Tuesday nights are non-profit fundraising nights.
You can find the Early Morning Start Cafe at 97 Quinton-Marlboro Road, Quinton. They are open Sunday and Monday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Tuesday – Saturday from 7 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.. This cafe also offers delivery and catering. A great neighborhood spot, everyone is welcome. If you’re in the area, be sure to visit.
