This One Street In New Jersey Has Every Type Of Restaurant You Can Imagine

New Jersey is home to many wonderful, walkable main streets with an abundance of dining options but one really stands out to me when it comes to diversity. Walking down Washington Street, you’ll find every type of cuisine imaginable. The street is easy to to traverse and just blocks from the scenic Hudson River waterfront. I enjoy simply strolling it on a nice day, but the food is a MAJOR bonus.
Washington Street in Hoboken is a mile-long stretch of beautiful brownstones and bountiful dining options.
You'll find fourteen blocks of incredible eateries between Newark and 15th Streets, with most eateries located south of 7th. Whatever you're craving, you can find it on Washington Street.
This is New Jersey, so you know that pizza options are plentiful.
You've got Basile's, Imposto, Frankie & Ava's, Pizza Republic (also known for mac n' cheese), Grimaldi's, Margherita's, The Brick Fire, Napoli's, and the iconic Benny Tudino's. Benny Tudino's is known for having some of the biggest (and best) slices in the Garden State. Many of these spots also offer up traditional Italian dishes.
Head to Karma Cafe where you can chow down on tikka masala. The menu offers a modern taken on traditional dishes and the restaurant has the most wonderful decor. Matt & Meera is another choice, offering Indian dishes and small plates like naan pizza.
Head to La Isla's downtown location on Washington Street for budget-friendly Cuban favorites - feel free to BYOB. You can also check out the more upscale The Cuban for some authentic Havana flavor.
Hoboken has plenty of options, several of which are on Washington Street. East LA offers a Tex-Mex menu and their famous frozen margaritas. Charritos serves up enchiladas, burritos, tamales and more.
Head to Arthur's for spectacular steak or Midtown Philly Steaks for cheeseteaks, chicken subs and wings. Stacks Pancake House is a perfect breakfast spot and Luke's Lobster is a great pick for quick eats and seafood cravings. Head to Vito's Deli for the best housemade mozzarella.

Illuzion is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that ships fresh fish in daily. The sushi is scrumptious and you're welcome to BYOB. Robongi is another favorite, known for its generous portions. Ayame offers sushi AND hibachi, and The Rice Shop serves up both Japanese and Thai fare. Yeung II is an Asian Bistro that serves sushi, Chinese and pan-Asian cuisine while Las Olas offers an eclectic mix of Mexican and Japanese dishes. You'll find menu items including sashimi nachos and spicy maki rolls.
Of course you can find it on Washington Street! Elysian Cafe is a French bistro with a diverse menu and Makai Poke Co. will transport you straight to the Hawaiian Islands. And there's more! For Malaysian, head to Satay, or O'Bagel for bagels!
You'll find the iconic Carlo's Bake Shop here, known for their creative custom cakes. They've also got cupcakes, cookies, pastries, and more! Other options include Jun's Macaron & Gelato, Lepore's Chocolates, and the Old German Bakery.
I could easily cover almost every country! Washington Street is a foodie paradise. The whole town is a cultural gem but Washington Street really shines.
