I’m a big fan of Lambertville, New Jersey. It’s a charming small town on the Delaware River that draws visitors from all over for its amazing antiquing. But, it’s not the only charming small town on the Delaware River. Frenchtown is a hidden gem that’s been called the best-kept secret weekend destination by the Huffington Post and, perhaps more importantly, Oprah Magazine labeled it one of’60 Charming American Towns You Haven’t Heard of But Should Visit ASAP.’ It came in at #15 alongside some pretty great towns like St. Simons Island, Georgia and Leavenworth, Washington.
Frenchtown is our very own little slice of paradise. It comes in at 1.3 miles and is only home to about 1,500 residents but it has a lot of heart.
Lovin' Oven is a fresh farm-to-table spot with a creative menu of both American and global cuisines. Try the kimchi fried rice or maple oak pancakes! Bridge Cafe has delicious milkshakes and a picturesque patio with river views. If you're looking for fine dining, head to the Frenchtown Inn and for a cup of coffee at a trendy spot, visit Early Bird Espresso & Mercantile. Cocina Del Sol has yummy Mexican fare on the menu and Napoli Pizza is the perfect place for Italian.
When it comes to shopping, check out Book Garden, Gemstone Gallery, Dalla Terra, Modern Love (great for gifts), and River Gypsy (women's clothing). If you're looking for gourmet eats, I hear Olive With A Twist is a terrific destination for foodies. All the 5-star reviews speak for themselves!
