Scenic drives are nice but scenic bike rides are even better; they’re eco-friendly and great exercise. New Jersey has many picturesque paths to choose from but the Henry Hudson Trail is a perfect pick for summer.

The shortest, sweetest segment is the 2.1-mile Bayshore Trail. It is paved for its first 0.6-mile; after that, the trail follows the shoreline - the terrain changes to gravel and sand.

Be sure to stop at Popamora Point. Leashed dogs are welcome. The trail is open from sunrise to sunset. Parking and restrooms can be found at Henry Hudson Trail Activity Center on NJ 36.
