With our miles and miles of gorgeous coastline, New Jersey has dozens of spectacular oceanfront restaurants. Some are quite posh, particularly those in Atlantic City, but others are more low key. Of course, low key does not mean low quality. Some of the Garden State’s best beach spots lean towards the casual side. So, skip the black tie and head here…
Long Branch is a popular shore destination, in part due to Pier Village.
The retail/residential complex has several shops, wonderful restaurants, and even an arcade! We love Boardwalk Fun N' Games, Molly & Zoey Undercover, and Coney Waffle. A fantastic beach day destination, we recommend heading up the road just a bit for Sunday brunch, burger night, extended happy hours, live music, and more.
Rooney's Oceanfront Restaurant has a lot to offer, from fantastic food to panoramic ocean views.
It's been a local (and visitor) favorite since 1995. You'll find floor to ceiling windows that can be opened up to let the breeze in on summer days. There's also an outdoor deck! It's a divine dining experience.
Beat the Monday Blues with an "all night happy hour" from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.! Visit on Thursdays for Burger Night, where you can score deals on burgers and beer (or wine). Enjoy live music on Fridays and Saturdays or visit on Sunday for a mouthwatering brunch buffet.

The food is fantastic, and there's plenty to choose from.
Seafood is the focus, and you'll find dishes including tuna bruschetta, lobster salad, shrimp tacos, and salmon burgers. You'll also find land-based dishes like chicken braciole and roast beef sandwiches. Another favorite from the bar menu is the grilled jerk wings with crudite, mango, and habenero pepper sauce. For brunch, expect everything from French toast to flank steak.
Enjoy a sizable selection of martinis, along with creative cocktails. The Front Porch Swing (Buffalo Trace, lemonade, muddled blueberries, sugar) tastes like summer and their Kendall-Jackson chardonnay reminds us of autumn. The sangria and wine flights are other favorites.
This is a great date destination, perfect for a night out with friends, and works just as well for happy hour or football on Sunday! You can find Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant at 100 Ocean Avenue North, Long Branch. They’ve been voted “Best of Monmouth County” and have won numerous wine spectator awards. For another fun central shore destination, check out this brewery.
