Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival, held annually in Munich. Millions of visitors from around the world flock to the city to celebrate German culture, the start of fall and, of course, an abundance of beer. If you can’t make it all the way to Bavaria, New Jersey offers our own take on the event. Check out these fun festivals throughout the state, many of which are family friendly.
Always a wonderful place to visit, attendees will enjoy juried crafters, an international food court, live music, children's games and more. The event runs from 10-5 both days and the shops will still be open for you to peruse the variety of unique goods.
Though this event is at a zoo (Turtle Back), it's ages 21 and up only. Sample brews from around the world at tasting stations, check out the food vendors and enjoy live music. The event runs from 6-9 and benefits the Essex County Parks Foundation.

Enjoy beer, bratwurst and more as Jackson Street is transformed into a German Promenade. There will be a variety of vendors including crafters. The event runs from 10-5.

The perfect Oktoberfest celebration for the more competitive among us, there will be a variety of races, contests and challenges throughout the day. Try your hand at barrel rolling and enjoy brewing demos while you sip on German beer. The event runs from noon-8.

This epic festival held by the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten actually lasts an entire month, ending on October 23rd, but the highlight is the street fair on Columbus Day Weekend. There will be live music, polka dancing, a massive selection of German brews, traditional German games, and a charity bier run on the 9th. Festival hours vary by day. This may be the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration in New Jersey.

This family-friendly event has a Rootbier Garden for younger guests, rides, games, children's activities, live music and all the fun of the amusement park. Mariner’s Pier will be open for Oktoberfest from noon-10 on Saturdays and from noon-5 on Sundays.

Supporting the Oasis Women's Center, enjoy German music, drinks and food. The event runs from 7-11 p.m. at McBride Field.
Excursion Park will be hosting live music, food and craft vendors, children's rides and games, beachfront hayrides and a pie baking contest. The event runs from 11-3.
