Fourth of July fireworks are a longstanding tradition in the United States and some of the nation’s best shows can be seen right here in New Jersey. We also offer some great small-town shows and celebrations in honor of Independence Day. Here are some of the best, all around the state:
Though the Macy's Fireworks will be held over the East River this year, New Jersey will still have its own show over the Hudson on July 4th. The festival will be held in Liberty State Park, starting at 1 p.m. with fireworks around 10.
This stunning display is the largest in Passaic County. The show will take place over the beautiful Garret Mountain Reservation on July 4th at 8:30 p.m.
The Atlantic City fireworks show has been called one of the top five in the country. Snag a spot along the boardwalk on July 3rd, where fireworks from multiple barges and a marina platform will light up the entire city starting at 9:30.
This massive waterfront festival offers activities including military displays, special events on the Battleship New Jersey, live music, fun giveaways and more! Festivities run from July 3-6, with fireworks on the 5th at 9 p.m.
Heading to Long Branch is always a great way to spend a day but Oceanfest adds to the experience. On July 4th starting at 10 a.m. enjoy carnival acts, sand sculpting and fireworks at dusk.
Take in fireworks at the fairgrounds on both July 3rd and 4th at 10. If the fair isn't your thing, head next door to the racetrack for a few races, the Money Machine promotion and fireworks after the last race.
Participate in the parade, pack a picnic and head to fireworks at Yogi Berra Stadium on July 4th at dusk. Concessions will be available starting at 7 p.m.
This town hosts a full day of events, beginning with a flag raising at 9:45 a.m. Enjoy concerts, a carnival and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Though at least one of these shows is likely a short drive from your home, almost every town has its own festivities. Hackensack offers all day entertainment on the 4th and Califon hosts a multi-day festival. From High Point to Cape May, the skies will shine bright with red, white and blue this weekend!
