Buffalo wings are an American staple. Something about the spicy fried goodness makes for a spectacular appetizer. Though not necessarily an everyday food, they offer a flavorful kick in the mouth. With the Super Bowl coming up, it’s the perfect time to go out and grab some wings for yourself. According to the National Chicken Council, Americans eat 1.25 billion wings each Super Bowl Sunday. I’d venture to guess that a good portion of those wings are eaten in New Jersey. We have some great spots to get wings, here are several favorites. Please note that this list is not a ranking, each restaurant has something equally spectacular to offer.
Enjoy juicy, jumbo-sized wings with your choice of sauces. Spicy Garlic Parmesan is a favorite, and Misery (a ghost chile/habenero blend) is the hottest flavor.
Enjoy buffalo wings or boneless buffalo bites at this local favorite. They also offer a sizable selection of unique sandwiches. If you can handle 15 "suicide" wings in 10 minutes, the wings are free and you get your name on the wall.
Sadly, this spot is seasonal, but their incredible wings could not be left off this list. Their "Ludicrous" wing challenge has been featured on Man vs. Food, but if you don't like super spicy, there are 15 other flavors.
A great place to go to catch the game, the wings here are wonderful. Spice fanatics will love the Bald Eagle wings - so hot, you'll lose your feathers!
Both Sharky's East and West have gotten recognition for their incredible buffalo wings. If you're not in the mood for wings (gasp!) the seafood menu is also spectacular.
The buffalo wings are great, but you have to try the famous "Jersey" wings. The exact recipe is top secret, but we know that it involves garlic and cheese. Yum!
This historic hot spot is well-known for its wings. More than just buffalo wings, though, you can enjoy buffalo: "ears," "tails," shrimp, scallops, onion rings, calamari, egg rolls, cheesesteak and more!
Though this is a chain, it is fairly local. There are several locations in Pennsylvania and 5 locations in New Jersey: Maple Shade, Medford Lakes, Washington Township, Cherry Hill and Haddon Township. Most locations offer half price wing nights, though you'll need to check for specific dates and times - they vary.
This family-friendly sports bar serves up some amazing wings. Enjoy special events at both locations including trivia nights, live entertainment, bingo and more.
This steak and seafood spot is also well-known for its wings. The buffalo wings are great, but give honey mandarin or green & bleu a try, too.
Have you been to any of these places? Which is your favorite wing spot/flavor? Are there any other places you would add to this list? Though I mostly focused on local businesses over chains, Atomic Wings, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili’s, Wing Zone, Wings To Go and Quaker Steak & Lube are also great options.
