Mount Tammany Is A Challenging Hike In New Jersey That Will Make Your Stomach Drop
New Jersey may be best known for its beaches (“Jersey Shore” fans, hello), but there are also some really beautiful hiking trails in the state. One of the most popular — and certainly the New Jersey hike with the best view — has to be Mount Tammany.
Mount Tammany is part of the Kittatinny Mountains in Warren County, and stands at about 1,526 feet tall. Mount Tammany has three things going for it: 1.) It’s a pretty challenging hike. 2.) It’s a beautiful forest walk and 3.) You’re rewarded with an unforgettable view of the Delaware Water Gap and the Pennsylvania mountains across the water.
So don’t be dismissive of the prospect of hiking in New Jersey — there are all sorts of beautiful (and challenging) hikes possible in this beachy state. Once you scale Mount Tammany, you certainly won’t doubt that again.
