Round Valley Reservoir was created in the 1960s by flooding a serene farming valley. Today, the remnants of the town remain beneath the surface of New Jersey’s largest reservoir, and the area surrounding the lake has been turned into a beautiful recreation area, with areas for hiking, camping, scuba diving, kayaking, and swimming. Round Valley Reservoir is one of the best places to go for a dip in the summertime, and visitors find that this Central Jersey swimming hole is scenic and serene.
