New Jersey offers some of the best food in the northeast. Sure, we compete with states like New York and even parts of New England, but those of us who have spent enough time here know that it’s no match for what you can get right here at home. Plus, with so much incredible nature, there are lots of restaurants that offer incredible views. It’s hard to choose a favorite, but this one directly on a lake is high on the list.
Welcome to The Windlass, located at Nolan’s Point on Lake Hopatcong.
This year-round restaurant has been sitting at its beautiful spot since the 1800s when tourism began growing at the lake. Originally part of an amusement park, the restaurant has both evolved and stayed the same. It leaves guests with a feeling of nostalgia, while also creating a contemporary feel.
And while the history is interesting, it's the views that captivate most people! Sitting outside when its warm means experiencing a great breeze with expansive views.
The Windlass is open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily with the exception of Wednesday when they’re closed. To learn more about them and check out the menu be sure to visit their website. And, keep up to date on live music and other fun events by following the restaurant on Facebook. You can reach them on 973-663-3190.
