Summer is finally here, New Jersey! I know I’ll be spending many early mornings, late nights, and entire weekends at the shore. The most difficult part of the season here in the Garden State (for me, at least) is not being able to be at the beach all the time. I love the sand, surf, seafood shacks, boardwalk arcades, amazing sunrises… I love the the tranquility of Harvey Cedars after the sun sets and the hustle and bustle of Point Pleasant on a warm weekend.

The only thing I don’t like about summer in New Jersey is that it has to end. My heart breaks each September and I stare wistfully at my calendar often by the time January rolls around. But you can be “shore” I’m going to enjoy the season while it’s here! I can’t be at the beach right now, but at least I have this gorgeous video of Long Beach Island and the Barnegat Peninsula by Majestic Flights to hold me over until the weekend.

You’ll probably spot some familiar sights, including Barnegat Lighthouse and Island Beach State Park. Barnegat Light is the second tallest lighthouse in New Jersey (Absecon Light snags the number one spot) and is open to the public (for a nominal fee) daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Island Beach State Park is one of the largest preserves of undeveloped barrier island in the United States! Are there any other attractions you recognize?
