New Jersey has a booming craft beer scene with well over 100 breweries in the Garden State. Each offers something special but there’s only one like Cold Spring Brewery – New Jersey’s only non-profit brewery. Sip on some spectacular beers as you support the preservation of fascinating local history!
Historic Cold Spring Village is a 30-acre historic site with a working farm and 27 restored structures from the 1800s. You'll find period interpreters demonstrating blacksmithing, woodworking, basket weaving, and plenty more.
During the summer season, visitors will enjoy family-friendly activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, and historic games. Don't skip the welcome center, country store, bakery, ice cream parlor, restaurant, and...
Options include Cape May Farmhouse - possibly their most authentic 1800s-style beer - Cold Spring Red - a bestseller with a rich burnt sienna color, a creamy beige head and good lace - and Vanilla Milk Stout - with strong notes of vanilla and chocolate and a hint of coffee flavor.
And you can do much more than drink here. You'll find special events including Fireside Chats (the next focuses on Revolutionary Women) and live music.
What I may love most is their love for animals. Cold Spring Brewery is dog-friendly AND offers discounts on Saturday if you share pics of your adorable kitties. I'm all about "Catterday Saturdays."
What’s not to love about this special place? If you live near Cape May, this may just be your new favorite local brewery. If you’re further away, be sure to add this to your Jersey Shore bucket list. You can have a full day of fun here in the summer months! Take a tour, grab a beer, and even bring your well-behaved pup. Check out their website and menu here.
