Every weekend in October, Delaware River Railroad Excursions offers seasonal train rides that journey to a local pumpkin patch, historic mine, and a corn maze. Fall is in full swing here in New Jersey, and there's no better way to celebrate the arrival of the season than a trip on the Great Pumpkin Train, operated by the Delaware River Railroad.

The first stop of the adventure will be at the pumpkin patch, which sits on a picturesque glade in front of the century-old Carpentersville Lime Kilns.
Delaware River Railroad Excursion
The lime kilns are the oldest and largest in New Jersey. In fact, they date back to the Revolutionary War.
Also on site is the Ol' Susquehanna Mine, a noteworthy attraction in and of itself. Upon arrival, your guide will tell you the story of Sylas Smith, who found the mine.
