Warm weather is here and that means it’s time to enjoy it! There are few things I love more than summer nights in New Jersey and I want to make the most of them. One unique way to do that is by taking a nighttime kayak tour. To up the fun factor, the tours featured today (one in North Jersey and one in South Jersey) are held on the full moon! A full moon allows us to enjoy a bright night on the water, with just enough light to enjoy the views.

The full moon kayak tour!

Both Aqua Trails and Laurel Hill Park offer magical full moon paddles. Pictured is a rendering of what you'll experience, though the paddling is even prettier in person.

Laurel Hill Park's paddles take place on and near the full moon, with the next available paddles in just a few weeks. The schedule is as follows: Sat, 6/15 @ 7:30 PM – Pre Full Moon, Sun, 6/16 @ 7:30 PM – Full Moon, Tue, 7/16 @ 7:30 PM – Full Moon, Wed, 7/17 @ 7:30 PM – Post Full Moon, Fri, 8/16 @ 7 PM – Post Full Moon, Sat, 8/17 @ 7 PM – Post Full Moon, Sat, 9/14 @ 6:30 PM – Full Moon, Sun, 9/15 @ 6:30 PM – Post Full Moon. Paddles are adult-only, last two hours, and take place on easy-to-paddle incoming tides. The prices are as follows: $30 per paddler / $15 per canoe passenger / $15 per paddler with own boat.

Aqua Trails paddles last 2.5 hours. The cost is $45 for singles and $75 for doubles. The schedule is as follows: June 16th and 17th - meets at 7:45pm, July 14th, 15th and 16th - meets at 7:15pm, August 13th, 14th and 15th - meets at 6:45pm, September 13th and 14th - meets at 6:15.
