The chain Federal Donuts has been one of Pennsylvania’s crown jewels for a long time – and Garden State residents have been left to look longingly across the river. Or, you know, catch a bus or SEPTA into Philly for a taste of those decadent donuts and crispy fried chicken.

Growing from one small location to a fast-growing chain of six across the city, Federal Donuts is the brainchild of acclaimed chef Michael Solomonov, along with his partners Steve Cook and Tom Henneman. Now, the wait for Garden State foodies is over – because the countdown begins to Federal Donuts in New Jersey. This offbeat chain is coming soon to the Marlton Square shopping center in western New Jersey, not far from the Philadelphia border. While no opening date has been announced yet, you can bet New Jersey foodies are counting the days!
