Supawna Meadows is a National Wildlife Refuge where you’ll find history, wildlife, and plenty of peace and quiet.

Supawna Meadows National Wildlife Refuge was established in the 1970s and has remained one of the top destinations for birders here in the Garden State.

The 3.7-mile Grassland Trail takes hikers through a flat and quiet marshland with plenty of viewpoints for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.

Pea Patch Island, which sits in the Delaware Bay just off the coast of the wildlife refuge, has a rookery that's home to tens of thousands of birds. It's the largest home to colonial wading birds on the coast north of Florida! Lots of migratory birds nest here in the summer and large birds like osprey, bald eagles, and owls call Supawna Meadows home, too.
