Flower lovers, mark your calendars! Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit is an incredible place to visit all year long but we absolutely love it in the spring. One of the best times to visit is on Daffodil Day! This year, it will be held on April 26th.
Reeves-Reed Arboretum was a private country estate from 1889 until 1974, when the property was preserved as an arboretum.
Listed on both the National and State Registers of Historic Places, the Arboretum is a non-profit garden that is free and open to the public 365 days a year.
The can't-miss event of the spring season is Daffodil Day. Visit and enjoy over 50,000 colorful daffodils in bloom! The daffodils were first planted by Susie Graham Reeves in the 1920s.
There will also be family-friendly activities, crafts, demonstrations, photo-opportunities and more. Admission is $10 for individuals and $25 for families.
You'll find maple sugaring in the winter, Art in the Garden outdoor exhibits from June-October, a summer concert series, and more.
On Discovery Saturdays (in warmer months), you can rent a backpack for a more immersive adventure! Each week, discover a new plant, animal or environmental topic through experiments, stories, games, and crafts. Backpacks will have binoculars, a magnifying glass, field guides, and everything you need to explore.
There are also a variety of programs for both kids and adults. You’ll find classes, family hikes, lectures, gardening workshops, and more. The arboretum is a must-visit for all gardening and nature lovers!
