New Jersey's Best Kept Camping Secret Is This Waterfront Spot With More Than 70 Glorious Campsites
If you’re in the mood for a fun outdoor getaway in New Jersey, you’re in luck: There are so many amazing places to go camping throughout the state! You can explore New Jersey’s many forests, mountains, and lakes in everything from a camper van to a cabin to a tent.
A personal favorite of ours is actually a lesser-known one: Parvin State Park, which offers a beautiful, waterfront camping area.

It's beautiful! Just look at the lake.

Each site comes with a fire ring, picnic table, and a lantern hook. Six people and two vehicles are allowed per site.

And yes, you can go swimming, kayaking, and canoeing on the lake during the summer while lifeguards are on duty.

They, too, have a waterfront location: You'll find them on the shore of Thundergust Lake.

There is a living room with a fireplace or wood burning stove, fire rings, kitchen with running water, a bathroom, electricity, and a brick patio with a table and grill.

In addition to lake activities, there are plenty of hiking trails to explore and lots of wildlife to see.
