New Jersey may not be Napa but we’ve got some great destinations for wine lovers. In addition to our own vineyards and wineries, we’ve got incredible restaurants with massive selections from all over the United States (and the world). I’ve previously featured the world-renown Restaurant Latour (learn more here) but today I’m highlighting another eatery with an impressive wine list…The Bernards Inn.
The Bernards Inn got its start in 1907 and has a rich history, including serving as a speakeasy during Prohibition.
Over a century later, the Bernards Inn serves as a boutique hotel, popular wedding venue, and amazing eatery with a massive wine list. It's consistently snagging awards and accolades including the prestigious "Best of Award of Excellence" from the Wine Spectator since 1999.
It's 63 pages long!!! You'll find over 1,500 varieties here including rare French Red Bordeauxs that will set you back thousands of dollars for a bottle.
In addition to wines from France, you'll find selections from New Zealand, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Australia, and almost anywhere else you can imagine.
Best of all, they've got bargain-priced wines, too. You can find delicious picks for less than $30 a bottle and they've even got a 69 bottles under $69 list that highlights low-price, high-quality wines.
Of course, we have to mention the mouthwatering menu of upscale American eats. Indulge in seasonal gourmet eats made with the freshest ingredients. The Long Island Duck is a favorite, but the beef and lobster do not disappoint.
