The Beachfront Attraction In New Jersey You'll Want To Visit Over And Over Again
New Jersey’s beaches are a big draw, and our boardwalks are built up with some of the best attractions. One of my favorites is filled with fun! Open rain or shine, anyone can enjoy this entertainment venue.
Silverball Museum Arcade offers a rotating selection of approximately 600 pinball machines (with 200 or so out at a time) and vintage arcade games. One of the largest public collections of pinball machines in the world, you’ll find both the newest technology and classic coin-operated machines (set to free play) dating back to the 1950s. Many machines are rare or historically significant and each game is accompanied by a plaque detailing its backstory. You’ll find games that pay tribute to pop culture icons ranging from The Beatles to KISS, The Simpsons and The Sopranos. When you’ve had your fill of pinball (is that possible?), check out arcade staples including Skee-Ball, Pong, and Asteroids.
Silverball Museum Arcade is located at 1000 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park. Admission is hourly, with half-hour, half-day, and full-day passes available. You can also purchase memberships – a fantastic value. There is an on-site cafe that serves up snacks including pizza, pretzels, french fries, and funnel cakes! Summer hours are Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. until midnight, and Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m.. A celebrity favorite, visitors have included Danny DeVito, Anthony Bourdain, and Bruce Springsteen. To learn more, visit their website here.
