Hey! I'm a freelance writer and guidebook author. I've authored "New Hampshire's 52 With A View - A Hiker's Guide", serve as editor of Appalachian Mountain Club's "Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide", and and am co-editor of the "White Mountain Guide", also for AMC. I'm currently beginning work on the 6th Edition of AMC's Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide, which will be published in 2025. I live in southern New Hampshire and can usually be found wandering throughout the state's mountains and forests.
New Hampshire’s coastline may be small but that doesn’t mean there’s any lack of delicious food straight from the ocean. In fact, New England has some of the most famous seafood in the nation, and folks from all over come here to enjoy it. There are three seafood restaurants in Seabrook that are fairly well-known for their menus and I’d like to introduce you to them.
For both locals and out-of-towners alike, The Tuna Striker Pub has become a hot spot in Seabrook. Inspired by the look of rustic fishing villages, the restaurant offers a relaxing and casual environment with great waterfront views.
All of your favorite seafood items can be found on the menu, from lobster bisque to grilled swordfish to classic standbys like baked haddock and fish and chips.
The Markey family opened this local favorite in 1971 and has become a year-round destination for beach-goers ever since. With a casual beach atmosphere, Markey's Lobster Pool has been embraced by diners from all over New England and beyond.
The restaurant is bright and airy with an outdoor deck that features views over a marsh amidst the salty ocean air. Oh, and the food is top-notch too. The menu has a wide selection of fired seafood, lobster right from the sea, and raw and steamed oysters.
Brown's has been a local favorite since 1950 when it was founded by the Brown family. Generations later, the family is still hard at work serving the freshest seafood to their loyal customers. And signs point to the restaurant being around for a long time to come.
Brown's features an indoor lobster pound where you can grab a cooked lobster or take one home to prepare yourself. Dine inside or relax outside on the deck overlooking the water. The restaurant is even dog-friendly!
