Summer is beginning, and that means it’s picnic season! Winters are long here in New Hampshire, which means we need to make the most of nice weather – and that means eating as many meals as we can outside. You couldn't dream up a more perfect picnic destination than Prescott Park. The park has it all - gorgeous formal gardens, rustic New England seaside buildings, and even a walkable causeway to a small island with covered picnic tables and restrooms. In the summer, enjoy your picnic with weekly entertainment thanks to the Prescott Park Arts Festival, which brings in fantastic performers for concerts open to the public. Bring a blanket and your dinner and you're good to go! If crowds aren't your thing, come any other night for a more peaceful picnic experience.
2. Great Island Common, New Castle

This 32 acre public park has fantastic ocean views and many great spots for a picnic. If you aren't a New Castle resident there is a small entrance fee, but it's totally worth it.
3. Ellacoya State Park, Gilford

This state park on the shores of Winnipesaukee has plenty of picnic tables and grills, as well as campsites if you want to stay the night. Be sure to get there early, as admission is limited.
4. Odiorne Point State Park, Rye

Enjoy incredible views of the open ocean and a lighthouse from this state park. There are plenty of trails to walk on after your meal, and you can even explore the ruins of an old military fort if you like.

This lake is Manchester's water supply, so there's no swimming allowed - but it's pristine and beautiful, the perfect spot to relax with your lunch.
7. Echo Lake Beach, Franconia

Nestled in Franconia Notch State Park, this beach offers spectacular mountain views and the chance to swim in a crystal-clear lake before or after your picnic.
