It seems like there’s a brewery on every other corner in New Hampshire these days — especially in Portsmouth. That means it’s getting harder and harder for new craft brewers to stand out from the crowd — but there’s one Irish brewery in the seacoast city that certainly stands out from the crowd for its unique brews, utilizing ingredients you certainly won’t find in your usual liquor store buys. Brewed using local ingredients combined with genuine Irish barley, this spot is one-of-a-kind — and it’s a truly fun place to visit.
Beara Brewing Co. doesn't look like much from the outside — certainly not like a brewery — but don't let the strip-mall appearance deceive you. This place is the real deal, and the inside is incredibly welcoming!
Prefer your sweet with a little savory? You would have loved Shugga Pig, a beer they brewed last fall with bacon and maple syrup. (Best of all, they used some of the proceeds from that beer to aid Hurricane Harvey relief efforts).
Of course, in addition to the wackier experimental flavors, Beara brews plenty of more standard yet delightful beers. The Outer Limits IPA is especially amazing!
They brew a wide variety of styles, which has even included bourbon oaked ales. You're sure to find something to love here, no matter what type of beer you gravitate towards.
You can find Beara Brewing Co. at 2800 Lafayette Rd, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Keep an eye on the Facebook page so you don’t miss the releases of any fun new brews!
