The short hike to Beecher and Pearl Cascades begins behind the Crawford Depot in Carroll. The station was built in 1891 and still operates today as a scenic railroad.

White Mountain National Forest covers 750,852 acres and has numerous trails that twist and turn throughout. Finding trail markers and signs can be a challenge in this dense area, so be sure to pick up a map at the head of the trail system before heading out on your journey. 
The station is right next to the Appalachian Mountain Club. Head behind the station, carefully cross the tracks, and you'll find the Avalon trailhead.
