Hey! I'm a freelance writer and guidebook author. I've authored "New Hampshire's 52 With A View - A Hiker's Guide", serve as editor of Appalachian Mountain Club's "Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide", and and am co-editor of the "White Mountain Guide", also for AMC. I'm currently beginning work on the 6th Edition of AMC's Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide, which will be published in 2025. I live in southern New Hampshire and can usually be found wandering throughout the state's mountains and forests.
New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee is the state’s largest body of water. Dotted along its shores are several picturesque small towns that have been welcoming visitors since the Granite State’s early days. The town of Meredith has been doing so since its incorporation in 1768, and its appeal is timeless.
The small town of Meredith is situated along the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee. Like many New Hampshire towns, its beginnings were in farming and agriculture before shifting toward tourism due to its location.
Meredith Village is the heart and commercial center of the town. Here, this walkable downtown features shops, restaurants, independent bookstores, and much more.
Given its location on Lake Winnipesaukee, Meredith offers the full complement of activities one can expect from life on the water. Boating, swimming, and scenic cruises are perfect for warm summer days.
Along the shores of Meredith Harbor is a sculpture walk to develop awareness and enjoyment of public art. A brochure and walking map is available to view these works of art.
Meredith and the surrounding region provide plentiful hiking opportunities. Challenge yourself with a nearby summit or take a more leisurely stroll at Page Pond Community Forest.
