The Friendly Farm is a family-run farm in the town of Dublin, New Hampshire that certainly lives up to its name. This farm offers a wide variety of hands-on, interactive farm experiences that both children and adults will enjoy. Located on Route 101 near the New Hampshire/Massachusetts border, it is twenty minutes outside of Keene and about an hour’s drive away from the cities of Manchester, NH and Fitchburg, MA. While it may be a bit off the beaten path, this farm is more than worth the trip. You definitely won’t want to miss all the family fun that The Friendly Farm has to offer.
In the spring, there is no shortage of adorable baby animals on the farm that are just starting to get their bearings in the world. Visitors can pet newborn lambs, hold newly hatched chicks, and even bottle feed cute baby goats.
Their website warns there is also a chance visitors will get to witness the miracle of life happen right before their very eyes, if they plan their trip at the right time!
The farm also features a petting zoo, where guests are welcome to pet, feed, and befriend a wide assortment of new furry friends, including big horses, fuzzy rabbits, a friendly pig, and even a peacock.
Visitors to the farm are also invited to wander around the area at their leisure. There are over five acres of land to explore, and they are welcome to plan a picnic and take in all the scenic beauty while enjoying a nice outdoor lunch.
Guests also won’t want to leave without visiting the Friendly Farm’s gift shop. Inside, visitors can purchase T-shirts and mementos of their time on the farm, as well as find educational books for children who are interested in learning more about all the animals they met.
The Friendly Farm opens for the season on Memorial Day weekend and closes in September. Guests are welcome to plan a visit any day during the summer months from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on weekends through mid-September, weather permitting.
