I Found Solitude In The Heart Of New Hampshire's Largest State Park
Over the last year or so, I’ve been exploring the largest of the New Hampshire state parks, Pisgah State Park, which spans 13,500 acres. Not only was I walking all the trails in the park as part of my duties as editor of the AMC Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide, but I was also working on the challenge of hiking every single trail in that same guidebook. I’ve since learned a lot about the park and its many hiking options, and a favorite has become the trip to remote Fullam Pond, which I did several months ago.
Since Pisgah State Park is so large, there are various ways to approach Fullam Pond. For more information and to download a trail map, visit the Pisgah State Park website and also consult the AMC Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide, which covers the park in detail.
Why not visit more New Hampshire state parks this year? Here are 15 of them to put on your must-see list.
