1. Franconia Notch State Park, Lincoln

We begin our journey at one of the most wonderful state parks in New Hampshire - Franconia Notch State Park. This is a great place to meet friends who took multiple cars so you can all take just one. And, of course, stop and enjoy some of the many waterfalls here including The Basin, Cloudland, and Swiftwater. 2. Beecher and Pearl Cascades, Carroll

One of the best features of the Beecher and Pearl Cascades is the hike to go and see them. Starting behind the Crawford Depot, the old train station right next to the Appalachian Mountain Club, you can begin your route by enjoying some history. Then, continue on the trail to see the stunning 35-foot waterfall.

3. Ammonoosuc Ravine, Sargent’s Purchase

This is a great place to get out and stretch those legs. Located in one of the most beautiful parts of the state, seeing this waterfall will take a little bit of effort. The hike to the Ammonoosuc Ravine is about 2.5 miles and it leads through some beautiful woods.

The highest single-drop waterfall in New Hampshire might also be the most well-known. You've probably seen photos of this waterfall in every season of the year, but we love it most in the summer. Especially beautiful in the fall, Jackson Falls will be a welcome relief for folks who don't feel like hiking. You can see this one practically from the road, making it a great place to stop and enjoy a quick picnic or some snacks along the way.

This 65-foot waterfall is one of our favorites on this road trip. In fact, many people consider it to be one of the most beautiful in the entire state! 7. Diana’s Baths, Bartlett

Another one of the most well-known natural wonders in the state, Diana's Baths makes for a great day trip all on its own.
