New Hampshire is a state that likes to go its own way. And sometimes, that means our traditions are a little bit…unusual. One in particular is coming up soon, and it’s a day that you absolutely won’t want to miss.
We warned you this was quirky! Each year on Memorial Day Weekend, the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Wildquack Duck Race, which is just what it sounds like – a massive rubber duck race down the river. This year's race and festival will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
Over 3,000 rubber duckies race in the main duck race (there are a couple more for large ducks too!) You pay a small price to enter, and could walk away with big prizes if your duck finishes at the front of the pack.
It's hilarious to watch the ducks race downstream, especially since they tend to get stuck on rocks and bounce around a bit. You never know what will happen to your duck!
This year’s Wildquack Duck Race will be held on Sunday, May 27, at Jackson Village Park in Jackson, NH. The festivities start at 9 a.m., with the races starting at 1:45 p.m. For more information, visit the event’s website or Facebook page.
