Despite the difficulties – and violence – of the 1920s in America, there’s something so enticing about this time period. Perhaps it’s the amazing clothes, perhaps the glamour of Gatsby-esque parties – whatever it is, we can’t resist ’20s themed parties, outfits, or, best of all, speakeasies. Chances are you had no idea you could travel back in time right here in New Hampshire, at a very cool hidden bar in Nashua called Codex. Read on to learn its secrets!
Like a proper speakesy, Codex is hidden. From the outside, you'll assume it's just another antique store.
Enter the storefront, and you'll be confronted with a bookshelf that contains a secret door. Of course, you'll have to figure out how to open it to get in!
If you make it inside, you'll be rewarded with one of the coolest bar interiors you've ever seen. You'll absolutely adore the old-fashioned swanky ambiance in here.
It's full of cozy corners, comfortable seating, and funky artwork.
The bartenders here create some of the most beautiful and inventive cocktails you've ever tried – and they're constantly cooking up new specials for you to try.
The presentation is amazing - the glasses alone will take you straight back in time.
Those drinks are likely to get you snacky – luckily, there are plenty of great apps to munch on while you peruse the cocktail menu.
If you want a full meal, you'll find a number of absolutely scrumptious offerings – the food is just as good as the drinks here.
You can find Codex (the outside, at least…) at 1 Elm St, Nashua, NH 03060.
