Despite a few warmer days, it’s clear that winter isn’t anywhere near over in New Hampshire. We’ve all learned through experience that a February thaw really doesn’t mean anything — it’s certain to get colder again before spring, at last, delivers us (of course, only after we’ve suffered through mud season). By this time of year, even the most diehard of winter lovers are starting to get sick of it — and we might start acting a little wacky as a result.
1. You've completely given up on dressing for the season.
Who cares how you dress anymore when you're going to be cold no matter how many layers you bundle up in.
2. You find yourself getting awfully testy
Your spouse, your kids, your coworkers — all of them might have noticed that you've been a bit grumpy lately. The winter tends to do that to the best of us!
3. You watch the sky daily, desperate for a spot of sunshine.
Sure, cloudy skies can be beautiful — but as they drag on day after day they sure get tedious, and we all get desperate for a little sun.
4. You can't stop craving carbs.
No matter what your New Year's Resolution was, by this point in the winter it's hard for all of us to resist seeking comfort in a big plate of pasta or a hefty slice of cake. Take comfort in the fact that we're all right there with you.
5. You're indulging in a few more adult beverages than usual.
It's understandable — the dark, cold days have driven many of us to a few extra drinks. Just be sure you don't let yourself go too far.
6. You can't stop dreaming of a tropical vacation.
Sure, a vacation sounds nice any time of year, but this is the point in the year when we all obsessively click through the travel sites every day.
7. You can't stop flipping ahead in the calendar.
Just hang in there — we'll get to spring eventually!
In need of a little sweet comfort? How about a visit to a delightful chocolate cafe ?
