Chances are if you think of the New England region, one of the images that comes to mind is fishing boats and small seaside villages. Along with that comes great seafood! While New Hampshire may have the shortest coastline of the six New England states, it doesn’t skimp on places to enjoy our local cuisine. Here’s one you shouldn’t miss.
Newick's Lobster House in Dover is a family-run restaurant founded by Capt. John Newick. The former navy man left the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after World War II to try his hand as a lobsterman, not realizing that his efforts would soon develop a large following.
The location of Newick's changed frequently in the early days. Eventually, John's son Jack retired from the Coast Guard and took over the business, settling in at Dover Point. Originally just a small take-out stand, Newick's quickly grew into a thriving restaurant.

Not only does Newick's offer of some of the best seafood around, their location along the Piscataqua River in the waterfront village of Dover Point isn't too shabby either.

Newick's has been serving up fresh seafood since 1948, so they've had lots of time to perfect their recipes.

No seafood menu would be complete without oysters. Newick's mainly use local oysters, but also serves oysters harvested from around New England as well as the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
