Let’s take a stroll back through the pages of time today, New Hampshire! Even though we’re well into the 21st century, do you ever long for the good old days – before smartphones, the internet, and online shopping? Back to those days when we shopped in quaint little mom and pop shops, where everyone knew everyone else? While most of us probably wouldn’t give up our 21st century conveniences, we can indulge in a little nostalgia when we visit this old fashioned variety store in New Hampshire.
Journey back in time when you visit North Conway 5 & 10 Cent Store, an historic shop that has been a neighborhood favorite for eight decades.
In fact, the shop, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, holds distinction as the "oldest continually operating retail store" in North Conway.
Good, old-fashioned penny candy and homemade fudge. Tantalize your taste buds with such scrumptious fudge flavors as peanut butter, creamsicle, and dark chocolate with nuts.
And speaking of dress up hats, get ready to channel your inner child. When's the last time you played with a wind up toy that you sent strutting across the room?
You'll find plenty of old school toys and games, including Dominoes, tin toys, toy cars, and puzzles. Don't forget to check out the stuffed animals, Russian dolls, and wooden instruments, too.
Treat yourself to a blast from the past at North Conway 5 & 10 Cent Store, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
