With winter here a lot of us are missing the time we spend in the great outdoors. But a little cold weather and snow doesn’t mean we must abandon all time outside! In fact, things are just getting good out here. There are a lot of things in the Granite State that can be enjoyed year-round and a walk across this bridge is one of them.

New Hampshire has beautiful covered bridges in every corner of the state. And while some are simply wonderful to look at, others have fun little secrets that cause visitors to linger just a little bit longer.

The Meriden Covered Bridge in Plainfield can be found a mile northwest of NH Route 120 in Meriden Village. It's on Colby Hill Road spanning Blood Brook.

You may have heard it called the Mill Bridge, as it sits near the site of the former Kimball's Mill dam. It was built in 1880 by James Tasker who did the job for a stunningly small $465.

The bridge is lovely to see any time of year. And while summer means cooling off in the swimming hole below, the winter offers stunning views as well.

And the views we're referring to are those of the waterfall that runs just beneath the bridge.
