No matter the day and no matter the time, we’re always up for a sweet treat. We also love exploring New Hampshire’s farms and open land. That’s why a visit to Harrisville is never a bad idea. Sitting beautifully in this small town in Cheshire County is a farm known for its delicious desserts and even better meat selection. It might not sound like a typical day trip, but we promise you’ll be back after doing it once.
Mayfair Farm in Harrisville might just be the most quintessential New England farm we've ever seen. Small and family-run, this place seems to have figured out how to deliver the most delicious food to a community of people who come back again and again.
Farmers, Sarah and Craig, moved to New Hampshire in 2011. Craig has raised animals since he was a child and Sarah's love of baking has helped create a space that feels like one part bakery and one part small, family-focused farm.
The farm sustainably raises old style pig breeds as well as Dorset cross lambs. Their animals roam the woods and pastures eating only non-GMO grains. The result is some of the best tasting meat you've ever had.
But even those without a special event to celebrate will want to leave with something backed by Sarah! Check out these chocolate chunk cookies with orange and sea salt.
And they also offer a few gluten-free products that taste so good you'll never know. And there might just be something to the idea of cooling farm-made goods in the fresh air.
Many farms offer great products in their stores, but something about Mayfair Farm just feels different. Stop by, enjoy a treat and consider just how much love has gone into this beautiful farm.
Mayfair Farm is officially open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., however, if you’d like to visit or check out the farm store be sure to confirm they’re open first as the schedule has changed due to COVID-19. You can learn more about them and see farm store hours by checking out their website or you can follow them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-827-3925.
