Loathe as we are to admit it, summer is drawing to a close. Before long the leaves will turn, the snow will start to fall, and we’ll be dreaming of these golden, halcyon summer days. But it’s much easier to get through the long New Hampshire winter with happy summer memories to look back on – and to look forward to recreating. There’s still time to spend a perfect day at one of the Granite State’s most gorgeous lakes – read on for more!
Echo Lake State Park in North Conway is one of the most stunning spots in New Hampshire – from the perfect emerald lake to the dramatic drop-offs of White Horse Ledge and Cathedral Ledge, it's one of those places that makes you remember just how lucky we are to live here.
Since it's a state park, the lake's perfect beach is open to everyone for lounging, picnicking, and swimming.
It has the kind of soft white sand that you usually associate with the Caribbean, so it feels like a real treat to take your sandals off and dig your toes in.
Though it's absolute perfection, it's somehow never too crowded.
You couldn't ask for a better swimming spot – this lake has the kind of clean, still water that makes diving in downright inviting.
Of course, summer isn't the only great time to visit Echo Lake. It's absolutely stunning in the fall too, all the more reason to come back!
You can find Echo Lake State Park at 68 Echo Lake Road, North Conway, NH 03860 . Check out the New Hampshire State Parks page for more details!
And if you’re ready for autumn, jump right into these gorgeous early fall hike s.
