There’s a lot to be proud of here in New Hampshire. From beautiful trails to lots of great history, every time we tell people about the Granite State, we find something new to gush about. While we love all of what makes this state so great, our favorite things are on the more obscure side. A great example? The largest pumpkin in North America was recently grown in New Hampshire, proving that not everything is bigger in Texas! Cultivated by Steve Geddes of Boscawen, the powerful pumpkin weighed in at an astonishing 2,528 pounds.

It was only 100 pounds shy of breaking the world record for the largest pumpkin ever grown, an honor which was awarded to Mathias Willemijns of Belgium in 2016.

It was also bigger than this pumpkin grown and presented at the fair in 2016.

The winning pumpkin earned its grower $6,000 in prize money making this a very, very valuable pie filling!
