New Hampshire may not have a massive coastline but what we lack in ocean views we make up for in waterfront vistas inland! The state is dotted with lakes, ponds, and rivers that allow for lots of activities. Hiking around them, boating on them, and looking out and enjoying the scenery makes any visit special. To make it even more special, consider waking up near one at one of these beautiful lakefront campgrounds!
Loon Lake might not be well-known compared to the others on this list, but the man-made 100-acre private beauty is fantastic nonetheless. The campground offers 102 sites, which means there's plenty of room, but they're open seasonally so you'll need to pack all your fun into the summer. You can learn more about them on their website.
This 55-acre campground sits on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, one of the state's most popular lakes. We love that they offer sites for all kinds of campers, from RV to tent. They even offer tents. Check them out by visiting their website.
This lakeside campground also offers tons of fun away from the shore with their pool and water slide. Both RVs and tents can find a spot here and the fun could easily last for weeks! You can learn more about visiting here.
One of the smaller campgrounds on this list, we love how family-friendly this spot it. You'll find it on the southern end of Lake Winnisquam. RVs and tents are both welcome here and there's a great sandy beach for those looking to find total relaxation. You can learn more about it by visiting their website.
Perfect for those looking for a more rustic, quiet camping experience Squam Lake Association offers primitive camping spots that require either hiking or boating. Squam Lake is near Lake Winnipesaukee but is less-visited making it a fun and more peaceful escape. Best of all, the cost of your overnight stay goes directly to help the Squam Lake Association continue their preservation work. You can learn more here.
Sitting directly on the banks of Lake Winnipesaukee, this fun campground offers lots of land and lake activities. Perfect for those who enjoy boating and swimming, access to the water can't be beat. Learn more about their tent and RV options by visiting their website.
This large, sprawling campground sits directly on Lake Ivanhoe and offers space for tents, RVs, travel trailers and pop-ups. Each spot has a fire pit and a picnic table, making it easy to enjoy all the best parts of camping. You can learn more about them here.
These are just a few of the great camping option that exist here in New Hampshire. If you have any you love and think we should check out, let us know in the comments.
