There are plenty of lovely waterfront dining options in New Hampshire, but sadly for us many of them are seasonal establishments. Winters are long here, and come February many of us are hankering for a different view than yet another dark interior. Head to Wolfeboro, where you’ll find a lakefront restaurant that’s open for dining – and admiring the amazing views – all year long.
Garwoods is attractive and welcoming from outside, but the facade doesn't fairly inform you of the incredible views that wait within.
The restaurant is right on Alton Bay and has some of the most stunning views of Lake Winnipesaukee you'll ever find – and since it's open all year, you can observe how views of the lake change season to season.
In the summer, the porch is the place to be, but in the winter you'll have amazing views from indoors as well. The massive windows ensure that there isn't a bad seat in the house.
The food here is wonderful too. There's probably no better way to get a taste of summer in February than with fresh oysters, and they're fabulous here.
