We’ll be the first to say that shopping doesn’t always require a goal. That means we should all feel totally free to go shopping without having something we actually need. In fact, some of the best purchases happen when we’re simply looking around. If you agree, we recommend checking out one of our favorite antique shops. Packed to the gills with unexpected finds, we’d be willing to be you’ll leave with something you didn’t even know you needed!
The Laconia Antique Center is located right on Main Street in downtown Laconia. The central location makes visiting a no-brainer if you're in the area, but it's also totally worth going out of your way.
There are two floors filled from end to end with fun finds. And from the second floor, which is a bit like a mezzanine, you can survey the entire place! This comes in handy for those who are serious about their shopping trips.
The store is housed within the former Newberry’s Department Store which was built back in the 1950s. That means just walking inside feels like a trip down memory lane. Check out the former soda fountain that now serves as "Connie's Counter." Take a seat at the counter and enjoy sandwiches, hot dogs and a root beer float!
In addition to decor antiques, you'll find memorabilia. Coin collectors and estate jewelry aficionados will love the merchandise dating back to long before they were born.
This place is full of fun surprises and they're quite involved in the local community. Come on in to browse and there's a great chance you'll be leaving with something fun, even if it's simply memories!
The Laconia Antique Center is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the winter and daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer. You can learn more about them by checking out their website or by following them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-524-9484.
