Getting outside in New Hampshire is the best way to enjoy the state and remember why we endure some of the more difficult winters. It’s easy to enjoy the state in the warmer months, but find ways to enjoy things any time of year and you’ll find yourself never wanting to leave the state. If you’re still on the fence about appreciating the outdoor opportunities year-round, head to this beautiful state park and you’ll know why we’re here!
Located about ten miles from Berlin, nestled in the White Mountains, you'll find Milan Hill State Park. It might not be the most well-known in the state, but we think it's one of the most wonderful to visit no matter the time of year.
Take any of the trails in the park and you're likely to find the view south over the mountains. This is one of the sights that helps visitors absolutely fall in love with New Hampshire.
It's tempting to stay in during the winter, but make your way to this beauty of a state park and you'll have access to some of the most beautiful winter trails in the state.
Of course, the fall foliage of any local state park is amazing. But Milan Hill State Park offers hikes to an incredible fire tower for even more amazing views.
And then, when you really want an adventure, book yourself a stay in one of the yurts the park offers. They book well in advance so enjoying these will require some pre-planning but the cozy space and access to nature are well worth it.
Milan Hill State Park is accessible year-round, but we love it just about any time. You can learn more about it by checking out the official New Hampshire State Parks website.
